My career in Complementary and Alternative Therapies began in the late 1990’s when I lived in Taiwan and began seeing a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Herbs and Reflexology. My Doctor encouraged me to study some of the basic techniques of Reflexology and Bodywork and so after leaving Taiwan I went to Thailand and trained in Thai massage in Chiang Mai. In 2000 I enrolled on a Complementary Therapy course in London, which gave me a foundation in various forms of western massage, as well as a formal qualification in Reflexology and Diet and Nutrition theory. I set up a practice at Planta Therapy Clinic in Crystal Palace in 2002 and was based there for a number of years.
During this time I trained in other subjects, including Advanced Massage, Systematic Kinesiology and Flower Remedies. I also spent two years as a student at the School of Insight and Intuition in Richmond. The nature of bodywork is built on trust, since you are allowing another person to enter your physical space to work with your body. Out of this trust a strong connection is built and it is inevitable for deeper conversations to be opened up and shared. What became clear to me was that many of my clients were requiring assistance beyond the physical, and also needing emotional support.
In 2011 I completed a Master's degree in Psychotherapy and Healing Practice from Middlesex University and around this time became a volunteer with Samaritans; I also started counselling children and adolescents in schools with Kids Company and Place 2 Be, which led me to work with young adults with mental health issues.

I took a sabbatical following the birth of my son and returned to study in 2018, completing an Acupuncture post-graduate diploma two years later. I continue to study to keep my skills fresh and am a volunteer Complementary Therapist at a hospice in Hackney.
